This ABC (Adults Befriending Children) pilot program is a site-based mentoring program with partnerships between Friends, College Place Public Schools and Walla Walla College.  These recommendations are based on research based practices supported by the  National Mentoring Center and the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory. 

Our goal is to match children in the College Place Public School district with adult mentors to develop a one-on-one friendship-based relationship. 

In the first year over 50 students showed interest in mentoring College Place youth.  After partnering with College Place Public Schools we recruited 28 parents who were interested in referring their child to be matched with an adult friend. 

The community of College Place is a welcoming partner many members of the Walla Walla College Student body and faculty have supported this pilot program as well as Walla Walla College Church
